National team coach Mohamed Ouahbi has called up Ilias Akhomach, the Villarreal right winger, to join the Atlas Lions camp at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora.
The Atlas Lions continued their preparations on Tuesday with another training session, their second since the start of the camp. Held in the late morning, the session focused mainly on technical and tactical work, in line with the program set by the national team’s coaching staff.
However, uncertainty remains over Brahim Diaz. The Real Madrid player was with the squad but has been dealing with muscle pain for several weeks and did not complete Tuesday’s session.

According to Spanish daily AS, the Moroccan international continues to feel pain. His fitness is therefore a concern three days before the Atlas Lions begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on Friday, September 25, against Gabon at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, starting at 7 p.m.
The Atlas Lions will hold another training session on Wednesday, September 23, at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, starting at 5:30 p.m.
