Ayyoub Bouaddi has signed his contract with Manchester City, completing his move from Lille after weeks of negotiations.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday, August 25, that all documents relating to the transfer had been signed by Lille and Manchester City, while Bouaddi had successfully completed his medical in England. The official announcement is now expected shortly.
The 18-year-old will join City on a five-year deal, with an additional year as an option. The transfer fee is €95 million, with a further €5 million potentially due in bonuses.
The deal makes Bouaddi the most expensive player ever sold by a Ligue 1 club, surpassing Neymar’s €90 million move from Paris Saint-Germain to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
He also becomes the most expensive Moroccan player in history, overtaking Achraf Hakimi, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milan in 2021 for €68 million.

Bouaddi will also rank among the most expensive teenage players in football history. Only Kylian Mbappé, who moved from Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain for €180 million, has commanded a higher fee.
