Brahim Diaz handed Real Madrid a 1-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday night at the Riazor Stadium in the Teresa Herrera Trophy, as the Spanish giants continued their preparations for the new season.
The Morocco international started the match and scored the only goal in first-half stoppage time.
Following a long throw from goalkeeper Andriy Lunin after he intercepted a Deportivo corner, Brahim controlled the ball with his chest near the halfway line before setting off alone towards the opposition goal. The Morocco international then won his one-on-one against the goalkeeper to open the scoring in the 45th+1 minute.
With the start of La Liga just days away, José Mourinho’s side will play their final warm-up match on Thursday, Aug. 13, against Schalke 04 before beginning their league campaign.
