Aguerd has passed his medical and is expected to officially join Real Sociedad soon. The Moroccan international is set to return to the club where he played during the 2024-25 season, when he was on loan from West Ham.
According to Foot Mercato, the move is expected to be officially confirmed on Thursday, August 13. The 30-year-old central defender is set to join on loan with an option to buy. He joined Olympique de Marseille a year ago for €23 million.
Aguerd underwent surgery on Thursday, March 12, to treat persistent pubalgia. He has not played since.
Initially called up for the 2026 World Cup, Aguerd was forced to withdraw from the squad after failing to recover fully and was eventually replaced by Marwane Saadane.
During his first spell in San Sebastián, the Morocco international made 36 appearances in all competitions for Real Sociedad.
