Stade de Reims have signed Moroccan goalkeeper Chouaib Bellaarouch from the Mohammed VI Football Academy, offering the 18-year-old his first opportunity to continue his development in European football.

The French club announced the move on its official website on Friday, August 21. Bellaarouch will join the Elite Group of Reims Révélations, a new post-training structure launched this summer to replace Group 2. This new setup, consisting of two groups—Elite and Espoirs—is specifically designed to help young talents progress towards the first team.

Bellaarouch is regarded as one of the most promising goalkeepers of his generation. He made a strong impression with Morocco’s U17 national team at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations U17, where his performances earned him the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper award as the Atlas Cubs won the title.

A few months later, the young goalkeeper also stood out at the U17 World Cup, particularly in Morocco’s round-of-16 match against the United States.

In April, Bellaarouch also won the Mohammed VI International U19 Tournament with the Mohammed VI Football Academy. He made three crucial saves in the penalty shootout against Leeds United in the semi-final and was once again named the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.
