The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced the punishment on Monday, October 19, saying the suspension was imposed after Ronaldo left the national team camp following a dispute with his coach on September 30.
The sanction is retroactive and took effect on September 30, meaning the star forward will be available for the next international window in mid-November.
He was also fined €255, according to a statement published on the FPF website. The federation said the charge against him was “entirely justified.”
The incident began on September 30, when the 41-year-old Portuguese football icon left the squad after learning that he would not start the following day’s Nations League match against Denmark in Copenhagen.
Portuguese media reported that he faced a suspension ranging from one to six months.

A few days after his abrupt departure, Ronaldo apologized to Portuguese supporters and his national team teammates, while confirming his breakdown with coach Jorge Jesus.
The player accused the 72-year-old coach of speaking to him in an authoritarian manner and of “breaking his word” by leaving him on the bench for the Nations League match.
“If I am physically fit (...) after serving whatever suspension is imposed on me, I will be available, as I have always been until today, to play and win with our national team,” wrote the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Portugal’s most-capped player and all-time leading scorer, with 146 goals in 234 appearances.
“We all, without exception, want to be together in November,” FPF president Pedro Proença said recently.
Portugal has won all four of its Nations League matches, including the last three without Ronaldo, and has qualified for the quarterfinals. Two Group 4 matches remain: a home game against Denmark on November 14, followed three days later by an away match in Wales.
