Fouzi Lekjaa visits the Atlas Lionesses on the eve of their opening match.

On the eve of Morocco’s opening match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) President Fouzi Lekjaa visited the national women’s team delegation to encourage the players ahead of the tournament.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced on Saturday, July 25, through a statement published on its official website, that its president, Fouzi Lekjaa, had visited the Morocco women’s national team delegation ahead of its opening match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The Atlas Lionesses will face Kenya on Sunday at Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.

During the visit, Lekjaa encouraged the players to give their best and represent Moroccan women’s football with distinction throughout the continental tournament.

He also stressed the objective of winning the African title and securing qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Brazil.

Morocco has been drawn in Group A. The Atlas Lionesses will open their campaign against Kenya on Sunday, July 26, before facing Algeria on Thursday, July 30, and Senegal on Monday, August 3, to conclude the group stage.
