The Jordan Football Association will present Moroccan coach Badou Zaki as the new head coach of the Jordan national team at a press conference on Aug. 20, the federation announced Saturday.
The press conference will take place at noon at the Jordan Football Association’s headquarters, with accredited media representatives invited to attend, according to the federation’s official announcement.
Zaki, a former Morocco goalkeeper and national team coach, was appointed to lead Jordan after the departure of fellow Moroccan coach Jamal Sellami. His appointment was announced by the Jordanian federation on July 19.
The federation said Zaki signed a one-year contract, renewable by mutual agreement. His tenure will include preparations for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, among the competitions facing the Jordanian national team.
The Aug. 20 press conference had initially been scheduled for earlier this month before being postponed. The Jordanian federation has now officially confirmed the new date for Zaki’s presentation.

Zaki, 67, previously managed Morocco’s national team and has coached several clubs in Morocco and abroad. He was Morocco’s goalkeeper during the 1986 World Cup, when the national team became the first African side to reach the knockout stage of the tournament.
His appointment gives him responsibility for a Jordan side that reached the 2023 AFC Asian Cup final, its best-ever finish in the continental competition.
