La Liga president Javier Tebas said on Monday, November 3, that he was continuing discussions with Chinese authorities to resolve the dispute and resume broadcasts of the Spanish league.
“For now, we have to wait and see how the situation develops. I remain in talks with the Chinese authorities, both in Madrid and in Beijing,” Tebas said on the sidelines of the World in Progress summit in Barcelona.
“I will travel there, hold discussions and continue the dialogue with the Chinese authorities. We will do everything possible to bring the situation back to normal,” he added.
Despite apologies from Mbappé, Real Madrid and La Liga, none of the matches in the 11th round of the Spanish league were broadcast on the sports channels of state-owned CCTV, AFP journalists in Beijing reported.

Several fixtures, including FC Barcelona’s match on Saturday evening, were nevertheless available on the Migu app, operated by a major Chinese streaming company that also holds broadcasting rights in the country.
“I would like to point out, to avoid any misunderstanding, that China Media Group (CMG) has the right to broadcast two league matches. The other group, the pay-TV arm of this broadcaster, Migu, showed all the matches except Real Madrid’s,” Tebas explained.
The boycott could extend this week to Champions League matches, which are broadcast in China by the iQiyi Sports platform. Its schedule does not list Real Madrid’s away match against AEK Athens on Wednesday, the only fixture missing from its website.
