The Moroccan team, made up of Khoulal Merieme, Ennams Fatima-Zahra, Nada Laaraj and Amina Dehhaoui, produced an impressive run to the gold medal, overcoming Kazakhstan in the quarter-finals before defeating Thailand in the semi-finals.
Their victory over Russia in the final secured a historic breakthrough for Moroccan taekwondo, marking the country’s first gold medal at the World Cup Team Championships.
Russia, represented by Alisa Soshnikova, Margarita Agrofenina, Iuliia Kudriavtseva and Mariia Federa, finished with the silver medal after an impressive campaign of their own. The Russian team eliminated host nation, top seeds and defending champions South Korea in the quarter-finals before beating Iran to reach the final.
Iran claimed the bronze medal after Hasti Mohammadi, Fatemeh Ahmadi, Yalda Valinejad and Baran Nemati defeated Thailand in the third-place match.
China and India completed the eight-team field in the women’s tournament.
The Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships will conclude on Friday with the mixed-team competition.
