The Portuguese club announced the move on Wednesday on its website, saying the young left-back, who was crowned Under-20 world champion with Morocco, has joined on a season-long loan. Local newspaper Record reported that he would sign a four-year contract if Vitória Guimarães exercise the purchase option.

In his first comments to the media, Kebdani said: “My main goal is to establish myself within the team, earn a place in the starting lineup and prove that I deserve to be signed.”

He added that he would also work to earn an opportunity with the first team.

“I saw that several young players started last season with the reserve team before being called up for first-team matches. I will work towards that,” he continued.

The 20-year-old Moroccan stressed that hard work and commitment would be key to his adaptation and development.

“Hard work and commitment will be decisive for success in the present, because nobody can live off the past,” he said.

Kebdani also reflected on his recent success with Morocco, while insisting that he now wants to prove himself in Portugal.

“I had a great season by becoming world champion, and I consider myself part of a great generation of Moroccan players. But I am starting from zero and want to show my value in Portugal, where I hope to be happy,” he added.

Kebdani has already begun training with coach Gil Lameiras and may be included in the Vitória Guimarães B squad for their next match against Leixões on Saturday, August 16.
