After making El Mourabet one of its priorities to strengthen its midfield during the summer transfer window, RB Leipzig has reportedly stepped up its efforts to sign the Morocco international.
According to Foot Mercato, RB Leipzig has already opened talks with RC Strasbourg over the Moroccan midfielder’s transfer. Attracted by the prospect of moving to the Bundesliga, El Mourabet has reportedly also agreed to join Leipzig.
According to the same source, RB Leipzig must now convince the French club’s management to finalize the transfer during this summer’s window.
Under contract with Strasbourg until June 2030, Samir El Mourabet has made 48 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
