Morocco has been crowned the best tennis nation in Africa for the eighth consecutive year by the Confederation of African Tennis, following the results achieved by its national teams across different age groups during the current season.
According to a statement from the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, the latest title comes after the various national teams recorded strong results throughout the year in continental competitions, both in individual and team events.
At the end of the season, Morocco’s U14 national team competed at the Arab U14 Tennis Championships, held in Tunisia from August 16 to 23, 2026. Morocco won three of the four titles contested in the individual and team events.
In the boys’ singles, three Moroccan players reached the semi-finals: Souleymane El Jamji, Adam Smaihi and Nasser Mouaffaq. This resulted in an all-Moroccan final, with El Jamji beating Smaihi.
El Jamji was therefore crowned Arab U14 champion, while Smaihi finished runner-up.
In the girls’ singles, Yaqout El Ghafouli won the Arab U14 title after beating Tunisia’s Mariem El Miladi in the final.
In the team competition, Souleymane El Jamji, Nasser Mouaffaq and Adam Smaihi won the Arab U14 boys’ title.
The Moroccan women’s team, made up of Lilia Jelloul, Joumana El Ouazzani and Yaqout El Ghafouli, finished as Arab U14 runners-up.
