Abdessamad Ezzalzouli could remain at Real Betis for at least one more season after AS Roma’s pursuit of the Moroccan international lost momentum.

Following the most productive campaign of his career with the Seville-based club, the Atlas Lion attracted interest from several European sides, with AS Roma reportedly making him one of its top transfer targets.

However, according to Italian transfer journalist Alfredo Pedullà, negotiations have cooled significantly in recent days and may have come to a halt altogether. At this stage, Roma reportedly considers the deal “a complicated operation” and has shifted much of its attention to RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa.

Roma’s management had been prepared to submit an offer worth €55 million, plus €5 million in performance-related bonuses, bringing the total close to Ezzalzouli’s €60 million release clause.

For now, no further progress has been reported regarding a potential transfer. The Morocco international remains under contract with Real Betis until 2029.
