Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova will contest the Wimbledon 2026 women’s singles final after both Czech players secured semifinal victories on Thursday, guaranteeing a third Czech champion at the All England Club in four years.
Muchova, the world No. 9, booked her place in the second Grand Slam final of her career after edging Coco Gauff 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (10-8) in a dramatic semifinal on Centre Court.
The match was decided by a tense final-set tiebreak in which both players held match points. Gauff, who led 9-8, squandered her chance after sending a forehand into the net, before Muchova responded by winning two of the final three points to seal victory.
The Czech extended her impressive grass-court record this season to 11 wins in 12 matches and will now have another opportunity to claim a first Grand Slam title after finishing runner-up at the French Open in 2023.
Later in the day, Noskova reached her maiden Grand Slam final with a straight-sets victory over Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk, winning 6-4, 6-4 on Centre Court.
The 21-year-old delivered another composed performance to continue the best run of her career at a tournament where she had never advanced beyond the fourth round.
Saturday’s final will guarantee another Czech champion at Wimbledon, following Marketa Vondrousova’s triumph in 2023 and Barbora Krejcikova’s title in 2024.
For both Muchova and Noskova, the final represents an opportunity to lift the first Grand Slam trophy of their careers, with the pair set to meet in a major final for the first time.
