Organized by the Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development as part of the Florilège Culturel program, this exhibition (July 17–31) features eleven acrylic paintings on canvas in the contemporary abstract art style.
According to the artist, abstract art is a form of expression that breaks free from conventional forms, colors, and gestures to produce an effect and evoke feelings and emotions through a different approach, while contemporary art is known for diverse media and emphasis on concepts and ideas.
In a speech on the occasion, Abdelkrim Bennani, president of the Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development, said this exhibition serves as a space for cultural exchange and bridging Morocco and France.
Expressing his delight at welcoming painter Jacques Gautrat to Morocco, he noted that his works, brought from Bordeaux, are distinguished by a unique style that fosters dialogue between the written word, the visual, and artistic creation.

For his part, Gautrat noted that his works are built on subtle compositions and an explosion of colors, adding that the canvas becomes " a fragment of space shaped by dreams. "
His paintings, which adhere to the realm of lyrical abstraction, embody a blend of refined colors, making art, above all, an interpretation of emotion.
An interior architect and decorator, Jacques Gautrat drew his earliest inspiration from the Italian painter Caravaggio and leaders of the Dutch school, before turning to abstract art, a true revelation for him.
