For the 39th edition of the Readers’ Choice Awards, Condé Nast Traveler collected 798,867 votes. The magazine noted a strong enthusiasm among its readers for Morocco’s luxury hotels, with the national top 10 spanning established properties in Marrakech, hotels in Casablanca, a mountain retreat and an Atlantic coast resort.
La Mamounia ranked first in Morocco with a score of 99.65 points, placing 14th among the world’s best hotels. The Marrakech landmark has featured in the readers’ rankings for several years and was also named among the world’s 50 best hotels in 2024.
The Mandarin Oriental in Marrakech followed closely with 99.58 points, ranking 22nd worldwide. The two Marrakech properties were nearly two points ahead of third-placed Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, which scored 97.42 points.

Marrakech dominates, while Casablanca makes its mark
Royal Mansour Marrakech, which was named the best hotel in Africa in the same ranking in 2019, came fourth nationally with 96.95 points. It was followed by Selman Marrakech with 96.80 points.

Royal Mansour Casablanca ranked sixth with 96.77 points, giving the economic capital two hotels in the national top six.
The second half of the ranking brought greater geographic diversity. Marrakech’s Es Saadi, a palace and villa complex, ranked seventh with 96.11 points.
Kasbah Tamadot, located in Asni at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, came eighth with 96.03 points. The property had previously ranked fourth in the North Africa category in 2022.
Sultana Oualidia ranked ninth and was the only property on Morocco’s Atlantic coast to make the list.
Indian luxury hotel brand The Oberoi in Marrakech completed the national top 10.
