Marvel Studios has revealed the cast of its upcoming X-Men film, bringing Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Adam Driver and other actors into the mutant franchise for a movie scheduled to reach theaters on May 5, 2028.
The cast was unveiled during Disney’s D23 event in Anaheim, California, where Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige introduced the actors who will play the next generation of X-Men.
Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey, while Kit Connor will portray Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops. Christopher Abbott has been cast as Professor X, with Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost.
Adam Driver will play Mister Sinister, one of the film’s confirmed villains. The character is also known as Nathaniel Essex in Marvel’s comics.
The film will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously directed Thunderbolts* for Marvel. The screenplay is being written by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo.
The new movie marks Marvel Studios’ first full X-Men film after Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, which previously controlled the film rights to the characters. The franchise had previously been built around films released by Fox, beginning with X-Men in 2000.
The new cast is separate from the group of actors from the earlier Fox films who are appearing in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Those returning actors include Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and James Marsden, among others. The new X-Men film instead introduces a new lineup for the franchise’s Marvel Studios era.
Marvel has set the film for a May 5, 2028 theatrical release.
