On the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, received Major General Issa Saif Bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, at the FAR General Staff headquarters in Rabat on Tuesday, October 6.

The visit comes as Al Mazrouei takes part in the third meeting of the Morocco-UAE Joint Military Commission, held on October 5 and 6, 2026, as well as the Marrakech Air Show 2026, taking place from October 7 to 10, according to a statement from the FAR General Command.

During the meeting, the two officials welcomed the level reached in military cooperation between Morocco and the UAE, particularly in capability development, defense industry, training, and the exchange of experience and expertise. They also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening and developing this cooperation.

The two officials later co-chaired the closing session of the third meeting of the Morocco-UAE Joint Military Commission, which concluded with a positive assessment covering a wide range of activities across several strategic areas.

General Berrid also presented Major General Issa Saif Bin Ablan Al Mazrouei with the Grand Cordon of the Order of Military Merit, awarded by King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen military cooperation between Morocco and the UAE.

Military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the UAE Armed Forces is based on a long-standing shared vision. It began in 1980 with the signing of the first military agreement and was further strengthened by a framework agreement concluded in May 2006.
