Public hospitals and health centers across Fez-Meknes are moving under a single management structure with the Regional Health Group now fully operational.
The group will oversee services across the different levels of care, from primary and local health centers to provincial and regional hospitals, as well as specialized and university hospital services, its general management said.

The new setup replaces the fragmented management of individual healthcare facilities with a regional system covering the different stages of a patient’s treatment.
It is intended to improve coordination between health centers and hospitals, particularly when patients need to be referred from one level of care to another or require follow-up across different facilities.
Planning and the allocation of resources will also be handled at the regional level, including the deployment of medical, nursing, administrative and technical staff according to needs.

The group will additionally oversee public health services, training, research, innovation and administrative management across Fez-Meknes.
The change is part of the implementation of Framework Law 06.22 on the national health system and Law 08.22 establishing Regional Health Groups. The reform provides for a financially autonomous public health group in each region to implement government health policy and manage services at the regional level.
The transition in Fez-Meknes will be phased in, with healthcare facilities continuing to operate as they move under the new structure, the group’s general management said.
