According to local sources contacted by Le360, the patients were admitted to the emergency department of Mohammed V Provincial Hospital with acute diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and severe abdominal pain. They received treatment and underwent medical examinations.
Hospital staff questioned the patients about what they had eaten before falling ill and found they had all purchased food from the same mobile vendor, strengthening suspicions that the cart was the source of the outbreak.
Local authorities and officials from the Ministry of Health were dispatched to inspect the cart and assess whether it complied with hygiene and food safety regulations. Authorities have also opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and establish responsibility based on the findings.
