The CAF Confederation Cup draw, held in Cairo on Wednesday, October 28, placed Raja Casablanca in the same group as Al Ahly, one of the competition’s leading sides, while AS FAR were drawn into a competitive group that appears manageable for the reigning African runners-up.

The draw took place at the Egyptian Football Association’s headquarters in Cairo.

Raja Casablanca were handed a difficult draw, landing in Group A alongside Al Ahly, coached by Moroccan manager Houcine Ammouta. The Green Eagles will also face Togo’s ASKO de Kara, who have never reached this stage of the competition, and Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto, whose best continental campaign was a run to the CAF Champions League semifinals in 2018.

AS FAR, meanwhile, were drawn into a group that looks more manageable on paper. The Rabat side will face Tanzania’s Azam FC, coached by Florent Ibengé, a familiar figure in the Botola, with the Tanzanian side making its debut at this stage of the competition. AS FAR will also meet Libya’s Al Ahli Tripoli, a regular participant in African competitions that has never reached a continental final, and South Africa’s Durban City FC, a young club making its first appearances on the African stage.

The groups for the 2026-2027 CAF Confederation Cup are as follows:

Group A: Al Ahly, Raja Casablanca, ASKO de Kara, Primeiro de Agosto

Group B: AS FAR, Azam FC, Al Ahli Tripoli, Durban City FC

Group C: CR Belouizdad or AS Douanes, AS Manama Union, Singida Black Stars, Red Arrows FC

Group D: USMA, CS Sfaxien, Black Bulls, AS Real de Bamako

The group stage will run from November 2026 to January 2027. The first legs of the quarterfinals are scheduled for February 26-28, with the return legs set for March 5-7.

The semifinal first legs will take place from April 9-11, followed by the return legs from April 16-18. The two legs of the final are scheduled to be played in May, between May 9 and 31.
