Morocco’s U17 women’s national team face North Korea on Wednesday, October 28, at 18:00 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora in the Round of 16 of the U17 Women’s World Cup.
Youness Rabie’s players are aiming to go beyond this stage of the competition for the first time, having reached the Round of 16 for the first time last year before losing to North Korea.
Morocco were beaten 6-1 by the eventual champions. North Korea have dominated the age group, winning four of the nine editions of the U17 Women’s World Cup.
Morocco began this year’s tournament with a 4-0 win over New Zealand before losing 4-2 to Germany and 5-1 to Argentina. They eventually qualified as one of the best third-placed teams.
North Korea, meanwhile, beat Puerto Rico 6-0 and Poland 6-1 before suffering a surprise 3-1 defeat to Nigeria. They nevertheless finished top of Group B.
The match will be officiated by Mexican referee Karen Hernández Andrade, assisted by compatriots Mayra Mora Constante and Karla Flores. Slovakia’s Miriama Bočková will serve as the fourth official.
Morocco vs. North Korea kicks off at 18:00 and will be broadcast live on Arryadia TNT and beIN Sports, as well as on TOD and the FIFA+ streaming platform.
