Three matches, 14 goals scored and three wins. The reigning two-time champions have already made their mark with convincing victories over Manchester City (4-2) and Barcelona (4-2) in the last two matchdays.
PSG travel to the Estadio de la Cerámica on Tuesday to take on an attack-minded Villarreal side that has scored eight goals in three matches but has been let down by its defense, as shown by its recent 4-3 defeat to Liverpool.
Although Ousmane Dembélé remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, PSG still boast formidable attacking firepower. Le Havre found that out on Friday, suffering a 5-1 defeat with Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi scoring a hat-trick.
Luis Enrique’s side have four other teams breathing down their necks on nine points, including Real Madrid, who have regained their confidence in La Liga since beating Barcelona in the Clásico and travel to face AEK Athens on Wednesday.
Aston Villa, also on three wins, host Barcelona on Tuesday. The Catalans have lost little of the form they showed at the start of the season. Despite thrashing Alavés 6-1 on Saturday, however, the Blaugrana have lost their last two major clashes, against Real Madrid (2-1) and PSG.
Real Betis, fourth in La Liga and also on nine points after beating opponents within their reach in Lille, Porto and Feyenoord, face a test away to Borussia Dortmund, who have six points.
Liverpool, fifth in the Premier League after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, can also make it four straight European wins when they visit Fenerbahçe. The Turkish side have already drawn twice at home, against Roma and Slavia Prague.

Bayern depleted by injuries
The Czech side host the Gunners, who reclaimed top spot in the Premier League ahead of Manchester City after beating Liverpool and are coming off a 2-2 draw away to Bayern Munich.
After thrashing Bodø/Glimt 5-0 on the opening matchday, Bayern have since drawn twice, including an underwhelming 3-3 result away to modest Norwegian side Viking FK.
The German champions will need to raise their game when they visit Atlético at the Metropolitano. The Madrid side have been in formidable form in La Liga, where they sit second after seven consecutive wins.
Freshly crowned Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane will have to lead the line amid a depleted attack. Ismaël Saibari and Serge Gnabry, both injured during the 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund this weekend, are ruled out, while Jamal Musiala and Luis Díaz are working their way back to fitness.
The only positive news for the German champions is that Michael Olise, who picked up a knee injury during the Klassiker, took part in training on Monday.
Manchester United are also in a difficult position in the Champions League, having suffered two consecutive defeats, as their domestic campaign continues to unravel with the team languishing in 17th place.
Following another loss, this time 2-0 to Chelsea, manager Michael Carrick is under pressure ahead of the home match against Roma.
Lens, who have lost their last two matches, and Lille, who have yet to earn a point in their European campaign, are both in urgent need of wins if they hope to move closer to the knockout play-offs.
Lille, who were beaten 4-2 at home by Galatasaray on the previous matchday after a heavy 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, travel north of the Arctic Circle to face Norway’s Bodø/Glimt. The surprise package of last season, the Norwegian side have since fallen back in the standings, recording just one win.
Lens, meanwhile, were taught a lesson in clinical finishing by Sporting CP in a 2-0 defeat before being swept aside 3-0 in Bruges. They host Como on Wednesday.
