Fenerbahçe, Viking, AEK Athens and Slovan Bratislava join Champions League league phase

The four clubs qualified on Wednesday, completing the lineup alongside LASK, Sabah and Bodø/Glimt, who secured their places a day earlier.

Fenerbahçe, Viking, AEK Athens and Slovan Bratislava secured the final four places in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase on Wednesday, August 26, completing the lineup ahead of Thursday’s draw in Monaco.

Fenerbahçe beat Lyon 2-1 away from home to go through 3-2 on aggregate. Vedat Muriqi and Archie Brown put the Turkish side ahead before half-time, while Malick Fofana pulled one back for Lyon after the break.

Viking overturned an early deficit to beat GNK Dinamo 3-1 and advance 5-3 on aggregate. Arbër Hoxha gave Dinamo the lead before Zlatko Tripić, Edvin Austbø and Tobias Moi turned the tie around for the Norwegian side.

AEK Athens secured its place with a 4-0 win over Levski Sofia, completing a 4-0 aggregate victory. Luka Jović and Barnabás Varga, who scored twice, put the Greek side in control before Răzvan Marin added a fourth from the penalty spot.

Slovan Bratislava needed extra time to eliminate Celje, winning 2-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate. Cristian Martínez scored the decisive goal in the 100th minute.

The four clubs joined LASK, Sabah and Bodø/Glimt, who had qualified on Tuesday, August 25.

LASK overturned a 3-0 first-leg defeat to Celtic with a 5-1 win after extra time, advancing 5-4 on aggregate.

Sabah also came from behind to beat Hapoel Beer-Sheva 5-2 after extra time, completing a 6-4 aggregate victory and reaching the Champions League league phase for the first time.

Bodø/Glimt secured their place for a second consecutive season after beating N.E.C. 3-0 to complete a 6-1 aggregate win.

The Champions League league-phase draw will take place in Monaco on Thursday, August 27, at 6 p.m. (Moroccan time). The first league-phase matches are scheduled for September 8-10.
