FIFA has revealed the official Best XI of the 2026 World Cup, with world champions Spain and fourth-placed France each placing three players in the fan-voted team.
Runners-up Argentina have two representatives, while Norway, England and Cape Verde each have one player in the lineup, which was selected through a public vote following the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Spain’s presence is led by captain Rodri, who was also named the tournament’s best player after helping guide his side to a second World Cup title. He is joined by defenders Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella.
France’s trio includes Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappé, midfielder Michael Olise and central defender Dayot Upamecano after Les Bleus finished fourth.
Argentina are represented by captain Lionel Messi and defender Lisandro Martínez. Messi scored eight goals and provided four assists during the tournament as Argentina reached a second consecutive World Cup final before losing 1-0 to Spain after extra time.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham and Norway striker Erling Haaland also earned places in the team following strong individual tournaments. Haaland finished among the competition’s leading scorers as Norway recorded its best-ever World Cup campaign.
The biggest surprise in the selection was Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, whose performances helped his country reach the knockout stage for the first time in its history.
