Raja Casablanca has decided to part ways with Spanish coach Paco Jémez following a start to the season that fell short of expectations, just two months after he took charge of the Green Eagles.
The Casablanca club announced the termination of Jémez’s contract on Monday, November 2, in a statement published on its social media accounts, explaining the reasons behind the decision.
“The decision follows a comprehensive assessment of the team’s sporting situation. The results, the quality of performances and the group’s overall progress have fallen short of the ambitions and sporting objectives set by the club,” Raja said in its statement.
“Raja reaffirms its determination to pursue its sporting project with ambition and responsibility, in keeping with the club’s objectives, history and standing, as well as the expectations and aspirations of its loyal supporters,” the Casablanca club added.
Appointed on August 31, Jémez managed just seven official matches at the helm of the Green Eagles. In the Botola Pro, the Spanish coach recorded one win, three draws and one defeat in five games. In the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers, he secured one win and one draw in two matches.
Raja Casablanca has yet to announce who will replace Jémez as head coach.
