Hassania Agadir announced Wednesday, Aug. 19, that it had postponed its friendly against Spanish club CD Tenerife.
The match was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20, at Agadir’s Al Inbiâate Stadium and was organized in cooperation with the Souss-Massa Regional League.
The postponement came at Tenerife’s request, as the Spanish club was unable to attend on the scheduled date, Hassania said in a statement. A new date will be announced once all parties have reached an agreement.
Hassania apologized for the postponement and thanked everyone involved in organizing the match.
The postponement comes after FC Barcelona also canceled a planned trip to Morocco. The Catalan club’s first team was due to play a friendly in Tangier on Saturday, Aug. 15, but Barcelona announced the cancellation on Aug. 6.
“Given the current context of uncertainty, FC Barcelona believes that the conditions are not in place for this match to take place,” the club said in a brief statement that evening, without providing further details.
