The event, which runs through August 22, combines sports, training, competition and social activities, with a focus on maritime sports and promoting knowledge and skills among young people.
The first day was dedicated to children and solidarity, in partnership with the 6Days ENCG Settat association. Several activities were organized for children from SAMU Social Casablanca.
Speaking to MAP, Anas Maazouz, vice president of the Moroccan Yacht Club Sports Association, said the week provides an opportunity to promote water sports among young people and highlight the values they encourage, including discipline, teamwork, perseverance and respect for the marine environment.
He added that ASYCM wanted the event to have a social dimension by dedicating its opening day to children, describing sport as a means of inclusion, sharing and personal development.
Yahya Ladid, president of the 6Days Club, highlighted the importance of the initiative, saying the partnership with ASYCM gives participating children an enriching experience and introduces them to the sea and water sports.
He also stressed the role of associations in supporting young people and creating spaces that encourage openness, self-confidence and teamwork, while praising the commitment of the partners involved in the initiative.
The week will continue Tuesday and Wednesday with an introductory and advanced sailing course. Competition will then take center stage on Thursday and Friday with a sailing race off the coast of Mohammedia, featuring ASYCM Mohammedia and the Royal Moroccan Navy Nautical Club (CNMR) in two days of competition and friendly rivalry.
Through the week of activities, ASYCM aims to combine sport, training and social action while promoting maritime culture and values of solidarity and sharing among young people.
