Sporting Gijón announced on Monday, July 13, 2026, the signing of Morocco under-20 international Moha Dahmouni, with the young defender committing to the Spanish club until June 2028.
In a statement published on its official website, the Asturian side confirmed that Dahmouni will initially join Sporting Atlético, the club’s reserve team, as he takes the next step in his development.
“Real Sporting have completed the signing of right-back Moha Dahmouni, who has agreed a deal with the club until June 2028,” Sporting said, welcoming the player and wishing him success in his new chapter.
Born in Arteixo, in the Galicia region of northwestern Spain, Dahmouni started his football journey in the youth ranks of CD Lugo before continuing his development at RC Celta de Vigo.
The 20-year-old joined Villarreal in 2025, where he featured for the club’s under-19 side, Juvenil A, before progressing to Villarreal C.
At the international level, Dahmouni has been involved with Morocco’s under-20 national team, earning several call-ups and taking part in training camps and international fixtures.
His move to Sporting Gijón, which currently competes in Spain’s second division, LaLiga Hypermotion, comes as more young Moroccan players continue to establish themselves in European football. Dahmouni will now look to build on his progress and push for a place in the club’s first team in the coming years.
