Morocco’s U20 national team won the bronze medal at the 20th edition of the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games in Italy on Sunday, August 30.
Ludovic Batelli’s side secured third place in the final standings after beating hosts Italy 4-1 at the Iacovone Stadium.
The Atlas Lions took the lead through Mohammed Mounssef in the ninth minute before Abdelali Eddaoudi added a second shortly after the break in the 47th minute. Karim Essaadi made it 3-0 three minutes later, while Anass Benomar completed the scoring for Morocco in the 75th minute.
It is the fourth bronze medal won by a Moroccan football team at the Mediterranean Games, following those secured at Athens 1991, Tarragona 2018 and Oran 2022.
