Mohammed VI Football Academy graduate Tawfik Bentayeb, who came through Union Touarga before joining Troyes on loan, has taken on a new challenge in Belgium by signing for RSC Anderlecht until 2031.
Bentayeb was Ligue 2’s top scorer last season with ESTAC, scoring 20 goals in 31 appearances, and played a key role in the club’s promotion to Ligue 1. His performances attracted the Belgian side, which was looking to strengthen its attack.
The Moroccan international received his first call-up to the Atlas Lions in May under coach Mohamed Ouahbi, who is well known at Anderlecht. Bentayeb will now continue his progress in a new league.
“I am very proud to be able to sign here. It is a historic club in Belgium. I hope we can achieve good things together,” Bentayeb said in a presentation video published by the club.
“I hope to bring my technical ability to the team, but the most important thing is to score a lot of goals. I think that’s why I’m here.”
