Walid Regragui, the former Morocco national team coach, has been included on the shortlist of candidates to take charge of Ghana following the departure of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz.
According to media reports, the Moroccan coach’s experience with the national team has been taken into account in considering him for the position. Ghanaian outlet Sporty FM also reported that Regragui is among the coaches under consideration, while identifying Pape Thiaw, the former Senegal national team coach, as the leading candidate.
The Ghana Football Association ended its partnership with Queiroz by mutual consent last Thursday following the Black Stars’ difficult start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
