Younes Lalami Laaroussi and Yassine Dlimi won the men’s doubles gold medal in tennis at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games on Sunday, August 30, after beating Spain’s Alejandro Marti Pujolràs and Alejo Sánchez Quílez in the final.
The Moroccan duo won 7-5, 6-4 in two sets to claim the gold medal in Taranto, Italy.
Lalami Laaroussi and Dlimi had reached the final after a more closely contested victory over Cyprus’ Melios Efstathiou and Eleftherios Neos in three sets, 6-7, 7-5, 12-10.
The gold medal adds to Morocco’s medal tally in Taranto, following those won earlier on Sunday, August 30, by Fatima Zahra Berdaha in the 5,000 meters and Yassine Hssine in the 100 meters.
