Moroccan motorists are set to face another increase in fuel prices from Wednesday, September 16. Le360 has learned that diesel prices are expected to rise by 34 centimes per litre, while unleaded gasoline is set to increase by 27 centimes.
The latest adjustment comes just two weeks after the previous one. On September 1, diesel prices rose by 6 centimes, while gasoline prices remained unchanged. In a survey conducted in Casablanca that same day, Le360 found diesel selling at DH 14.96 per litre at Petromin Oils, Afriquia and Winxo, compared with DH 14.99 at Shell. gasoline was priced at DH 14.93 per litre in the city.
Based on these latest reference prices, Wednesday’s expected increase would bring diesel to around DH 15.30 per litre in Casablanca. Gasoline would reach approximately DH 15.20 per litre. These figures are indicative, as prices may vary slightly depending on the company and station, as well as from one city to another.
The latest increase would bring the cumulative rise in diesel prices since mid-July to DH 2.74 per litre. Diesel prices rose by 69 centimes in mid-July, followed by a DH 1 increase in early August, another 65-centime increase in mid-August and a 6-centime rise on September 1.

Diesel would therefore remain more expensive than gasoline, a situation that has become particularly visible since the beginning of the month and that Wednesday’s expected increase would further widen.
Such an inversion in fuel prices remains rare in Morocco. A previous instance was recorded in late March 2022, following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and a surge in international oil prices.
On March 31, 2022, diesel reached around DH 14.30 per litre in Casablanca, becoming more expensive than gasoline for the first time, with petrol selling at around DH 14.16 per litre.
International oil market remains under pressure
The latest increase comes as the international oil market remains under heavy pressure. On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Brent crude was trading above $107 a barrel during the session, after already rising by 8% in the week ending September 11.
Prices are being supported in particular by concerns over supply following attacks that damaged Saudi energy infrastructure and forced the East-West Pipeline to shut down.
The previous day, Monday, September 14, Brent had already gained 2.6% to reach $107.33 a barrel.
The pressure is particularly strong on refined products, which have a direct impact on the Moroccan market.
The global diesel market continues to face tight supply, against a backdrop of disruptions in the Middle East and declining Russian refining capacity. Diesel exports from Russia and the Gulf had fallen by 1.6 million barrels per day since February 2026.
In Europe, gasoline refining margins had exceeded $62 a barrel on September 2, while in the United States, the average diesel price crossed the $6-per-gallon threshold for the first time on September 10.
