The increase is outlined in the HCP’s latest tourism satellite account for 2025. Tourism GDP rose from MAD 116.2 billion in 2024 to MAD 129.7 billion last year, supported in part by a 16% increase in net taxes on tourism products.

As a result, tourism’s contribution to national GDP climbed from 7.2% in 2024 to 7.5% in 2025, the HCP said in an information note, highlighting the sector’s growing weight in the Moroccan economy.

Domestic tourism consumption reached MAD 222.4 billion in 2025, compared with MAD 201.7 billion in 2024, an increase of 10.3%.

The rise reflected growth in both inbound tourism consumption, which increased by 12.5% to MAD 154 billion, and domestic and outbound tourism consumption, which rose by 5.5% to MAD 68.4 billion.

Inbound tourism accounted for 69.2% of total domestic tourism consumption in 2025, while the share attributable to domestic and outbound tourism fell to 30.8%.

Tourism-sector output also increased, reaching MAD 199.4 billion, up 9.6% year on year. The sector’s value added rose by 10.8% to MAD 106.8 billion, according to the HCP.
