The royal decree (Dahir) appointing members of the government headed by Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri has been published in the latest issue of the Official Gazette, the same day the new cabinet secured a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.
The decree, numbered 1.26.91, appears in the Oct 22 issue of the Gazette and cites Article 47 of the Constitution, along with the royal decree of Oct 1 appointing El Mansouri as head of government.
The same issue carries a separate decree relieving Madiha Khayr of her duties as minister delegate in charge of Vocational Training and Qualification, with effect from Oct 18.
Khayr was removed just two days after her appointment, following concerns over her judicial past.
El Mansouri defended the decision in the House of Councillors on Wednesday, rejecting criticism that the swift dismissal reflected confusion within her government.
She said she had sought Khayr’s removal after information emerged that raised concerns about her suitability to manage public funds, describing the decision as an act of courage.
The publication follows Thursday’s confidence vote, in which 204 members of the House of Representatives backed the government’s program and 127 voted against it.
