Police officers from the Aïn Chock-Ben M’sik district in Casablanca arrested five individuals in the early hours of Tuesday, September 15, on suspicion of involvement in a case of sports hooliganism and possession of bladed weapons under circumstances threatening the safety of people and property.
According to initial findings from the investigation, the suspects are believed to be affiliated with a supporters’ faction of a local football club. They were arrested in a neighborhood in the city in possession of six large bladed weapons and a bottle containing flammable liquid.
The suspects were placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine all the circumstances and details of the case. Investigations are continuing to identify and arrest all the alleged accomplices.
