Police arrested a pharmacist, his assistant and a woman on Friday as an investigation into the illegal sale of psychotropic drugs in Casablanca led to a second pharmacy, according to a security source.
The investigation began after police in Fida Mers Sultan arrested a person on August 19 for allegedly selling psychotropic pills.
Police said 25 prescriptions for narcotic medicines were found in the suspect’s possession. A pharmacist and his assistant were subsequently arrested on suspicion of involvement in the case and later referred to the courts.
Further inquiries led investigators to a second pharmacist, who was arrested along with his assistant on Friday.

Police said two allegedly forged prescriptions for narcotic medicines, a quantity of psychotropic drugs, medical documents and cash suspected to be proceeds from the illegal sales were seized.
A woman with a previous drug-trafficking record was also arrested at the pharmacy.
Police said she was caught allegedly trying to obtain psychotropic drugs illegally and was carrying a prescription issued in another person’s name.
The three suspects were placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office as police sought to identify any other people involved.
