The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has placed several provinces under an orange-level weather warning as hot conditions and locally strong wind gusts are expected on Sunday, September 13 and Monday, September 14, according to an updated alert bulletin issued Sunday morning.
Temperatures are expected to reach between 40°C and 44°C in the provinces of Fkih Ben Salah, Rehamna, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Ouezzane, Fez, Khemisset, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Assa-Zag, Azilal, Es-Semara, Tata, Taroudant, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, Kelaat Sraghna and Marrakech from Sunday, September 13 to Monday, September 14.
The bulletin also forecasts temperatures ranging from 36°C to 40°C in Meknes, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Essaouira, Mediouna, Nouaceur, Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, El Jadida, Safi, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Benslimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Mohammedia, Khenifra and Larache over the same period.
