Royal Gendarmerie officers intercepted a Rabat-bound car near Bguara on Saturday and arrested three people after finding hashish and kif inside the vehicle, according to a gendarmerie source.
The vehicle was heading towards Rabat when it was stopped by officers operating in Sidi Slimane province.
A search turned up quantities of hashish and kif, the source said. No weight for the seizure was immediately given.
All three occupants were taken into custody as investigators began tracing where the drugs had come from and where they were meant to go.
The inquiry, being conducted under the supervision of the competent authorities, is also looking into whether other people were involved in transporting or distributing the drugs.
Gendarmes in the province have been keeping watch on routes used to move narcotics between areas as part of operations against drug trafficking, according to the source.
