Anass Salah-Eddine is reportedly nearing a move to Panathinaikos, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Saturday, September 12. The Greek club is set to add the Moroccan international, an AS Roma left-back, as their third Moroccan signing this summer.

Salah-Eddine is expected to depart the Italian club after not securing a place in Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans.

His representatives and Panathinaikos have reportedly reached a verbal agreement, with a medical examination anticipated shortly. The transfer fee is expected to be €7 million, with an additional €1 million in potential bonuses.

Le360sport previously reported that Olympiakos and several Spanish clubs had approached Salah-Eddine weeks ago, but he ultimately chose the current Greek league leaders.

His departure from Roma seemed inevitable after Gasperini stated in a press conference, “Salah-Eddine has had many opportunities, all of which he turned down. As for Roma, I have already made my choices, and he is not part of my plans.”

Panathinaikos announced Ounahi’s return on September 2. The Moroccan midfielder joined from Girona FC in Spain, signing a four-year contract until summer 2030. The club also announced the arrival of Imran Louza on August 29 from Watford, with the midfielder signing a contract until June 2029.
