Arryadia, the SNRT group’s third television channel, announced on Thursday, October 29, that it had secured the broadcasting rights to the quarterfinals, semifinals and final of the Portuguese League Cup.
The channel broadcast two quarterfinal matches on Thursday, with further coverage planned for the semifinals and the final, which is scheduled for January.
Sporting CP and Porto booked their places in the semifinals on Wednesday after defeating Marítimo and Académico de Viseu Futebol Clube, respectively. Benfica and Famalicão secured the remaining two semifinal spots on Thursday, beating Gil Vicente and Braga, respectively.
Founded in 2007, the competition brings together six teams from the Primeira Liga, Portugal’s top division, and two from the Segunda Liga, the country’s second tier. Unlike the Taça de Portugal, the League Cup does not offer qualification for continental competitions.
