Morocco’s women’s national team resumed training at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora as preparations began for its second group-stage fixture.
Led by captain Zineb Redouani, the Atlas Lionesses comfortably defeated Kenya 4-0 in their opening match at Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

Speaking in the mixed zone after the match, head coach Jorge Vilda expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance against Kenya. The Spanish coach said he was “proud of the team” and “happy to work with these players.”
“We did many good things in the first half. The second half still needs improvement. As always, we will analyse every detail so we can perform better in the next match. We also need to rest, recover well and focus on the next game,” he said.
The Atlas Lionesses have now shifted their attention to their next challenge against Algeria, scheduled for Thursday, July 30, at 9 p.m. at Moulay El Hassan Stadium. Algeria opened its campaign with a 2-0 victory over Senegal on the first matchday.
