Azzedine Ounahi is expected to be sidelined for two and a half to three months after suffering a serious hamstring injury in Panathinaikos’ 5-1 win over Asteras on Sunday, October 18.

An MRI scan carried out Monday morning revealed a complete tear of the muscle belly of his right biceps femoris. Sources close to the Greek club estimate his recovery time at between two and a half and three months.

Panathinaikos has yet to officially announce the nature of Ounahi’s injury or the length of his absence.

The Moroccan international is therefore expected to miss the next Atlas Lions camp, with Morocco set to face Niger on November 13 and 17 in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ounahi returned to Greece from Girona FC on September 2, 2026. He has since made eight appearances for Panathinaikos, scoring three goals.
