Azzedine Ounahi was stretchered off in the 19th minute of Panathinaikos’ 4-1 win over Asteras on Sunday, October 18. The midfielder appeared to be in significant pain as he held his left thigh.

Panathinaikos is expected to provide an update on the nature of Ounahi’s injury and his potential recovery time.

The injury comes with two important fixtures awaiting the Atlas Lions in November. Morocco will face Niger on November 13 in Casablanca and again on November 17 in Rabat in the third and fourth rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ounahi’s condition will therefore be closely monitored, given his key role in Mohamed Ouahbi’s squad.

Ounahi returned to Greece on September 2, 2026, joining Panathinaikos from Girona FC. Since then, he has made eight appearances and scored three goals. His club currently leads the league after seven rounds, with five wins and one defeat.
