Charaf El Bahraoui’s sorba from the Marrakech-Safi region won the King Mohammed VI Tbourida Grand Prix on Saturday, the fifth and final day of the competition at the 17th El Jadida Horse Show.

With 484.02 points, El Bahraoui’s team finished ahead of Mehdi Anjar’s sorba, also from Marrakech-Safi, which scored 444.36 points. Abdeljalil Al Bouabbadi’s sorba from the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region took third place with 423.19 points.

After his victory, El Bahraoui expressed his pride in winning the prestigious award, saying the achievement was the result of intensive work throughout the year.

He said his sorba had managed to stand out in a highly competitive field, adding that the outcome had been decided by small details.

At the end of the competition, Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, president of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Sports Federation (FRMSE), presented the King Mohammed VI Tbourida Grand Prix trophy to the winning team’s Moqaddem, along with awards for the teams that finished second and third.

This edition of the Grand Prix brought together 18 sorbas representing Morocco’s 12 regions.

Participants were assessed by FRMSE judges according to set criteria, including the riders’ performance in Hadda, the discipline and handling of their rifles and the synchronization of their shots under the leadership of the Moqaddem.

Held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, the El Jadida Horse Show is running through October 18. Over the years, it has become a space for exchange and dialogue among stakeholders in the equestrian world and a showcase for Morocco’s regions, allowing them to highlight their distinctive features and their contribution to preserving the Kingdom’s rich equestrian cultural heritage.
