Morocco added two more tennis medals at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, with Karim Bennani winning gold and Yasmine Kabbaj claiming bronze.
Bennani secured the top spot on the podium after coming from a set down to beat Spain’s Alejo Sánchez Quílez 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in Monday’s final.
He had reached the final with a 6-1, 6-4 straight-sets victory over Portugal’s Francisco Rocha in the semifinals.
Kabbaj, meanwhile, won bronze after defeating Spain’s María García Cid 6-3, 6-0 in the third-place match.
The Moroccan had missed out on a place in the final after losing to Italy’s Noemi Basiletti in the semifinals in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 2-6.
