Morocco secured its first win in Egypt after opening the competition with a goalless draw against Tunisia.

Morocco’s U20 national team defeated Algeria 3-1 on Wednesday, September 30, in their second match of the UNAF U20 Tournament in Egypt.

After drawing 0-0 with Tunisia on Sunday, Morocco claimed its first victory of the tournament at the Suez Canal Stadium, collecting three points in the second matchday.

Ludovic Batelli’s players made the difference after the break, with Sami Bouhoudane opening the scoring in the 53rd minute before Mohamed Mounssef doubled Morocco’s lead three minutes later.

Ilyas Hidaoui added Morocco’s third goal in the 64th minute, putting the team firmly in control before Algeria managed to reduce the deficit.

The Algerian side could not find a way back into the match, allowing Morocco to secure all three points.

The top two teams in the standings will qualify for the UNAF region’s places at the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations U20.
