The U17 Lionesses of the Atlas began their 2026 Mediterranean Games campaign with a resounding 4-0 victory over Slovenia on Saturday, August 22, at the Franco Fanuzzi Stadium in Brindisi.
Youness Rabie’s young squad secured a comfortable win in their opening match of the tournament, which runs until September 3.
Goals were scored by Imane Dhissi in the 50th minute, Nessma Mouradi (61st-minute penalty, 66th), and Chaimae Boughazi in the 63rd minute.
The Lionesses will face Portugal on Sunday, August 23, followed by a match against Kosovo on August 25.
They will conclude the group stage against Italy on Thursday, August 27. This tournament provides valuable preparation for the team ahead of the U17 Women’s World Cup, which Morocco will host from October 17 to November 7.
